THORNHAM

Thornham is a small village on the North Norfolk coast, nestled just a few miles from Hunstanton. It’s an area that’s famous for its golden sandy beaches, nature reserves, salt marshes, big skies and long coastal views. It’s a peaceful, relaxing place to come and unwind, somewhere you can just enjoy being yourself.

hunstanton

The tourist town of Hunstanton lies just five miles to the west of Thornham. It’s a fascinating mix of elegant Victorian seaside resort with its Esplanade Gardens and nineteenth-century buildings, and a lively family destination with swathes of sandy beach, many amusements and the famous summer theatre. Old Hunstanton is close by, where you can walk along the beach and see the famous red and white striped cliffs.

Thornham’s eastern neighbour has plenty to recommend it, such as the amount of wildlife that can be seen around the village. In the winter, flocks of pink-footed geese fill the skies, and during the summer wading birds make their home here. You can also most of the water here, (it’s a popular destination for sailing and kite surfing), or stay on dry land and buy freshly caught seafood from stalls at the staithe.

wells-next-the-sea

Colourful beach huts, crabbing on the quay, the world’s smallest public railway, miles of golden sand - Wells is a reminder of beach resorts from times gone by. But there’s much more to uncover here: walking through extensive pine woods, finding a unique keepsake at one of the many independent shops on the high street, taking in an arts event at the new Maltings venue; this town just twelve miles from Thornham is full of surprises.
